On the front page of the French newspaper “Le Monde illustré” no. 1498, a drawing made according to a photograph was published on December 12th, 1885, showing King Milan and Queen Natalie with Prince Alexander, heir to the throne of Serbia, as written below the drawing. King Milan is standing in a ceremonial uniform, while Queen Natalija is sitting, facing the observer in profile. Between them stands little Alexander with a toy in his hand.
