Paftas are metal ornaments for the belt, which are at the same time its buckle. Our copy belongs to the massive, rectangular paftas and consists of three plates: two longer, horizontal, and central plate, which is narrow and placed vertically. In the middle of each there is a rosette with a ring in the middle, on which are double chains with coins at the ends. As a goldsmith’s product, the pafta is made of silver sheet metal and decorated with stylized, floral motifs in the technique of embossing and filigree. The rectangular fields in the middle of each plate are gilded.
