St. John the Forerunner in the landscape is another icon that follows the example of the painter Angelos at the end of the 18th century. It depicts the saint in a developed, beautifully painted, colorful landscape in multiple plans, which are created by bluish mounds of soil. It resembles the icon of the forefather Noah from the same era, which is kept in the Museum of Macedonia. A similarly painted vegetation can be seen on the icon of the Ascension of Christ in the monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski.
