The scales from the early Byzantine period, originally from Kosmaj, arrived in the Archaeological Collection as a gift from Mrs. Leposava Aleksić Zarić. It consists of a lever with an incised triple measuring scale and a chain system with hooks for loading loads; weights are missing. Scales, as a measuring instrument, are rare in Serbia and therefore this finding is especially significant and close to the well-known finds from Singidunum, Gamzigrad and Justiniana Prima. According to the method of processing the lever, the scale belongs to the so-called type “Constantinople”, which was made in the eastern Mediterranean.
