Bardak, around the middle of the 20th century, Kraljevo

Bardak is a vessel for holding brandy, and our copy is specially decorated with a plastic-shaped bust of a girl with wings, who “holds” the “spout” of the vessel with her hands. The dish is painted brown, while the girl’s clothes are blue, the wings are white, as is her face with black hair and red lips. In the middle of the vessel, below the breast, a flower with six petals painted blue, yellow and white in a circle of white dots is painted. The pot was made by Tadija Potić, a potter from Kraljevo. Such dishes were sold at parliaments, where people from the village gladly bought them. They were used especially at weddings and celebrations.
