Dozidnica for a washbasin, mid-1950s, Kraljevo

The housewife is shown on the dozidnica with two jugs of water, one of which is poured into the sink. There is a bucket on the right side of the sink, and a towel on the wall, which says “Good morning” and an embroidered comb insert. At the bottom of the composition are floral motifs with a rose in the middle. The text of the message is divided into two pages: “Every day until dawn. / Let the sun of happiness dawn on you”. The embroidery was made according to a tricked motif, with re-green thread, and the techniques are represented: letter embroidery, stuffed embroidery, stitch technique and cross stitch. The item was donated to the Ethnographic Collection by the Lišanin family from Kraljevo.
