Pafta, late 19th century, Pirot

Paftas are metal ornaments for the belt, which are at the same time its buckle. The pafta belongs to the type of Pirot paftas and is made by casting, from silver alloy. It consists of two side parts and a central, circular one, dominated by a filigree rosette with a red stone in the middle. The side elements have two decorated fields: in the first to the central part there are also rosettes in the center, while in the second, on both parts, there is a bird.
