Rifle “karanfilka”, 18th to 19th century

The so-called “karanfilka” rifle belongs to the long rifles (155 cm), whose iron barrel at the top is widened and connected to the stock with seven brass rings, which are decorated with geometric motifs. At the initial part, in the area of the gunpowder chamber, the trademark and the manufacturer’s mark (III AAA-UC) are imprinted, which indicates the Italian origin of the pipe. The sole with a spring system is outside and is also decorated, as is the bent buttstock. Such rifles are craft products of an artistic character and were often parade.
