Brothers Musić: Pavlica and Brvenik

The exhibition “Brothers Musić: Pavlica and Brvenik” will be opened at the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, starting at 7 p.m. The exhibition is dedicated to the Musić brothers, nephews of Prince Lazar and among the most important noblemen of the medieval Serbian state on the eve of the Battle of Kosovo.

The exhibition highlights the historical role of Stefan and Lazar Musić, their family and political ties with Prince Lazar, as well as the importance of the middle Ibar region, Brvenik, Nova Pavlica, and the Lab area in the second half of the 14th century. Special attention is given to their participation in key events of the era – from struggles against regional lords to the fight against the Turks in the Battle of Kosovo in 1389, where they laid down their lives together with Prince Lazar.

Through archaeological finds, reconstructions of medieval fortresses, depictions of noble life, weapons, trade, and spirituality, the audience will have the opportunity to learn about the heritage of the Musić family, as well as the cultural and political circumstances in Serbia before the Ottoman conquests.

The exhibition also presents the story of the monastery Nova Pavlica, the endowment of the Musić brothers, their connections with Mount Athos and Russia, as well as the discovery of their tomb and relics in the 20th century.
