As well-known as Venetian carnivals and gondolas\, from the Venetian Republic to the present day\, the fascination for decorative and utilitarian objects made of this glass has not stopped\, and at one time it was also made in the domestic factory in Prokuplje. The competitive spirit of dedicated craftsmen who learned strictly guarded techniques brought them privileges and world fame\, so Murano aesthetics remained woven into many styles and eras. However\, in one period in the former Yugoslavia\, these very objects were home decor of special value and a desired symbol of social status. The complex history of Murano glass art has long gone beyond the limits of craft\, and its “fashion” has returned again and again\, revealing new forms to us\, while at the same time resisting becoming a commercial product. \nThe Museum of Spoonsweet – House of Cvetić is preparing the exhibition “Murano Fashion” where it will present objects made of Murano glass from its unique collection\, and the lecture is an introduction to the future project. Four basic types of tea are presented: white\, green\, black and oolong\, and visitors will have the opportunity to see for themselves the basic differences between black and green teas\, as well as to learn about the rules for preparing certain teas. \nIn addition to tea leaves\, other forms of tea will be displayed at the exhibition\, such as ceremonial Japanese matcha tea (powdered) or cake-shaped tea (the oldest type of tea leaf use). In addition to well-known teas made from medicinal plants such as mint\, chamomile\, linden\, sage\, there are also many “real” teas that are made from only one\, relatively small mountain plant\, TEA (Camellia sinensis)\, whose natural habitat is in Asia. For the production of teas from the TEA plant\, only the leaves are used\, and mostly only the ones at the top (the youngest). The picking is done by hand and the plants must be at least three years old. \nToday there are about 1500 different teas obtained from the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). Some of the most famous green teas are Japanese matcha\, Chinese gunpowder\, Japanese sencha and Chinese green tea with jasmine. The most famous black teas are English breakfast\, Earl Gray\, Assam\, and Darjeeling. In Belgrade\, tea parties were important for social life between the two wars\, and they usually served Russian black tea in porcelain services with silverware\, and care was taken about appropriate clothes\, good manners\, and suitable topics for conversation. After the Second World War\, tea parties as a form of gathering completely disappeared from the social scene in Serbia\, and the re-arrival of tea in Serbia almost coincides with the beginning of the new millennium. \nOne part of the exhibition is dedicated to porcelain and porcelain tea accessories (teapots\, cups\, a porcelain whisk stand)\, and visitors will have the opportunity to see unique metal tea boxes\, accessories for preparing a ceremonial tea sword\, Russian samovars\, Moroccan and Turkish accessories for tea etc. \nPorcelain objects from the Ethnological Collection of furniture of the National Museum Kraljevo will also be presented at the exhibition. The post-war history of the surviving members of the Jewish people in European countries\, their attitude towards them\, their attempt to re-enter the lives of the countries they considered their own – regardless of the bitter experiences in the past\, including the most brutal ones caused by fascism and racist ideology – were mixed with everything with a more pronounced desire to tie their life perspective to the creation of an independent Jewish state in the areas where it existed until the destruction of the Jersualim Temple almost two thousand years ago. This was also a peculiar\, by no means easy and simple search for a new identity\, facing the new political\, social\, and every other reality of his old homeland and the legacy of the politics of the great powers in the Middle East\, problems caused by new ideological divisions in the post-Cold War world\, in search of a new life. \nYugoslav Jews\, survivors of the Holocaust\, participants in the resistance movement\, only slightly more than 10% of the pre-war number of members of the Jewish community\, were also part of this process\, faced with dilemmas: to stay and participate in the reconstruction of the country under a new ideological system\, or to opt for emigration. The exhibition is of a competitive nature\, and prizes are awarded to the children\, as well as to the pedagogues who followed their work. \nThe cooperation of the Museum’s curator with the teachers\, established at the beginning and during the participation in the competition\, is important for the final result that we see in the final exhibition. The primary selection\, i.e. the jurying for the exhibition\, is performed by the art pedagogues\, whose selection of works is evaluated by the Museum’s expert jury by awarding the award for the best selection of student works and the award for the most successful school in the field of art education. The aim of the exhibition is to point out the continuity between science and art\, using the example of the visualization of scientific content\, as well as the fact that every kind of visualization of science relies on artistic interpretation\, regardless of whether it is illustrations that are traditionally classified as strictly “scientific” or as strictly “artistic”. Through the modern visual language of illustrations\, the authors of which are the most famous graphic artists from Serbia and the region\, the audience will have the opportunity to learn about numerous unexpected connections between science\, our everyday life\, worldview and society as a whole through nine thematic units. \nThe author of the exhibition concept is Ivan Umeljić\, while the exhibition was designed by Monika Lang. The rhythms\, accents and breaks performed by the drummer will be accompanied by the reactions of the virtual bassist\, pianist and saxophonist. The abundance of frequencies that the drums produce allow the other instruments to build melody and harmony. Thus\, the visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly in the interaction by hitting the drum\, which will produce reactions from other instruments\, to which Saša Ranković will have his response by using the most classic old jazz set of “Gretsch” drums. Free and unprepared drumming will enable simulating a joint performance with live musicians and together with the audience create completely original and spontaneous musical works on the spot. \nSaša Ranković is a performer of instrumental music on drums\, professor of philosophy\, member of the Rambo Amadeus band\, who has been performing and creating with the most prominent jazz musicians here and in the region for 25 years. He has been a member of Association of Fine Artist of Serbia since 2021. \nŽeljko Radović is a young artist with an already expressed drawing identity. He builds his artistic direction through the figurativeness of the art medium\, within which endless spaces of playful cartoon narrative are created. Although he is at the beginning of his creative work\, facing challenges\, both artistic and life\, Radović is the bearer of a spontaneous and miraculous dialogue between man and nature. He gazed into the symbolic and iconic infinity of forest landscapes. Conciseness and ease of drawing are based not on a mere realistic interpretation\, but on an analysis of the “cruel and powerful” world\, starting from the fact that nature is a teacher and a medium for anyone who wants to hear it. The artist uses a pencil and a shower\, his lines are thin\, clear\, precise\, intertwined\, sometimes azure\, guided by the atmosphere and energy of the wilderness. The ease of expression and conciseness of the motifs derive from the artist’s playfulness and contemplation of the forest of his spirit\, as one of his previous exhibitions is called. Thanks to Mihail Dučić\, the legacy of Jovan Dučić was brought to Trebinje in 1960 by the ship “Trebinje”. \nThe special importance of this exhibition is that Dučić is presented not only as a poet\, but also as a diplomat\, collector\, exceptional connoisseur of art and as the first curator of the Trebinje Museum\, given that he carefully kept an inventory book of his collection for the future museum. Karanovac/Kraljevo in Serbian Newspaper 1835-1918”\, in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo\, on Thursday\, August 17th\, 2023\, starting at 8 p.m. \nThe edition includes four books by Slavoljub Maržik\, MSc\, with the theme “Karanovac/Kraljevo in the Serbian Press”\, in which the period from 1835-1918 is viewed through four chronological frames (1835-1867; 1968-1903; 1904-1908; 1908-1918). This collected material was also the immediate reason for the organization of a scientific meeting\, whose Proceedings “Publication in the Development of Society and State I: From Newspaper Report to Objective History. Karanovac/Kraljevo in Serbian Newspaper 1835-1918” is the fifth part of the edition\, which completes this topic. \nThe collection contains works that were presented at the scientific meeting with international participation\, held in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo\, on August 17th and 18th\, 2021\, as part of the Žiča Spiritual Assembly “Transfiguration 2021”. The editors of the collection are Ljubodrag P. Ristić\, PhD\, and Darko Gučanin\, and the publishers are the National Museum Kraljevo\, the Institute for Political Studies\, Belgrade and the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade. \nCollection of papers “Publications in the Development of Society and State I: From a Newspaper Report to Objective History. Karanovac/Kraljevo in Serbian Newspaper 1835-1918” includes twenty-one works by academics\, university professors\, institute employees\, political scientists\, museum curators and advisors\, archivists… An overview of the appearance\, role and development of the press in the progress of society and the state in Serbia until the First World War and the influence of the press during the First World War in informing or misinforming was the basis of the idea of the organizers of the symposium. That’s why the wider circle of papers is directly and fundamentally related to the history of the Kraljevo region and news about it. The arrival of a large number of refugees imposed the necessity of their organized care. \nFor this purpose\, in 1941\, the Commissariat for Refugees and Immigrants was founded\, under whose tutelage in Mataruška Banja on June 3rd\, 1942\, Serbian refugee homes for the care of children begin their work. This has transformed this popular tourist spot into one of the most important and active humanitarian centers in Serbia. Since 1943\, the Studenica Monastery has been included in the system of refugee homes\, as a convalescent home for children with poor health. Caring for children was complex and included accommodation\, nutrition\, treatment\, schooling\, raising children and organizing their free time. \nAlmost all the children arrived very sick\, exhausted and starving. From the beginning of June 1942 to the end of November 1944\, more than 3\,445 children found refuge in Mataruška Banja\, 56 of whom\, despite the efforts of doctors\, succumbed to the consequences of the disease. He is also the author of the Šabac rock encyclopedia “From Chivi to Goblin”\, which has undergone several additions and reissues\, as well as publications such as “Lonesome Blues Story”\, “Šabac in the Shadow of Jazz 1934-2004” and “Half a Century of Rock and Roll in Šabac”. \nIn the 1990s\, Živko Ivković wrote for “Yu Rock Magazine” and “Rock Express” until the closure of this music magazine in 2004. At the same time\, the expression of stillness\, tranquillity and stability of the rock was given. The artist alludes to the dual nature of the world and man\, which is opposed in the constancy of time. The scarce\, inhospitable\, self-sufficient rocks of the Morača canyon are imposed as a starting point-motif for the “Styx” cycle\, which inspires awe in the artist. Following the research of matter and spirit\, which on this occasion are not mutually exclusive\, the artist consistently\, through respect for the standards of aesthetics\, creates associations with the physical properties of stone\, its texture and fullness\, bringing to the surface stillness\, duration and sublimity. The final result of the entire process of combining matter and spirituality reflects the artist’s feeling for the nature of stone\, which has been sharpened to the highest degree of sensitivity. \nJelena Šalinić Terzić was born (1976) in Kraljevo\, while she graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Arts in Belgrade in 2000\, in the class of professor Anđelka Bojović. She received her master’s degree in 2003 and her doctorate in 2016 from the same professor. He works as a full professor at the Faculty of Arts and Philology (FILUM) of the University of Kragujevac\, at the Department of Applied and Fine Arts. He has been a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia since 2001. She exhibited at 50 solo and over 300 group exhibitions in the country and abroad. DESCRIPTION:During the fourth and fifth decades of the 19th century\, the first chemical tests of medicinal waters from some sources in the territory of the Principality of Serbia began. Those first steps towards balneology cannot be observed without the comprehensive context of the creation and birth of certain political\, administrative\, economic\, and social conditions\, with the aim of forming a modern Serbian state. The changes that were reflected in the modernization of the state administration included the transformation of education\, healthcare\, the military and other structures of society. Many researchers believe that following the development of healthcare\, especially balneology\, we can also follow the beginnings and development of tourism. More precisely\, the beginnings of tourism in Serbia should be sought in its spas. From the so-called folk spas\, real spas are created\, the waters of which have been continuously tested and which have been hygienically arranged over time. Then Vrnjačka Banja\, Banja Koviljača\, Sokobanja and Bukovička Banja stood out. \nMataruška Banja\, as a health resort and tourist destination\, began to develop in the first years of the 20th century. Although it is one of the youngest spas\, due to its special natural resources and characteristic geographical-spatial structure\, its development followed an upward trajectory\, especially in the years between the two world wars\, when it was formed as a climatic health resort for rest and recovery. \nAt the exhibition “Mataruška Banja: Beneath the Cold Linden Trees\, Near the Fast Ibar River…”\, the audience will have the opportunity to learn through postcards\, photos\, objects and documents\, about the genesis of the origin and development of Mataruška Banja: from the discovery of healing water\, through the interwar years boom and rise\, then systemic and ideological changes in socialism\, when it developed into a modern health resort\, in accordance with the standards of modern balneology and rehabilitation\, until the beginning of the nineties of the 20th century\, when it experienced a kind of setback. In addition to the chronological presentation\, the exhibition provides an insight into the original urban and regulatory plan\, panoramas of settlements\, architectural projects of spa baths\, hotels and villas\, the appearance of tourist and hospitality facilities\, health and healing institutions\, representative spa villas\, and visually evoking the culture of living\, clothing\, as well as and scenes of rest and recreation.
