SUMMARY:Come and Play!
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “Come and Play!” presents to the public “Toys and Social Games in Socialist Yugoslavia from the Collection of Vladimir Radojičić and the collections of the National Museum Kraljevo”\, and its authors are historians of the National Museum Kraljevo Mirjana Savić\, museum advisor and Nemanja Trifunovic\, curator\, as well as ethnologist Sofija Pršić. The “Aria” Choir\, led by Dragana Milićević\, is participating in the opening. The exhibition provides a brief overview of the production\, sale and use of toys produced in Yugoslavia\, but also imported from other countries in the period from the fifties to the eighties of the twentieth century\, as well as insight into various economic\, political and social circumstances\, which directly affected childhood and growing up in socialist Yugoslavia. The collections include toys produced in Yugoslav factories or created in publishing companies: “Mehanotehnika” Izola\, “Jugoplastika” Split\, “Biserka” Zagreb\, “25. May” Labin\,“Lio” Osijek\, “Tik Tik” Krapina\, “Poligalant” Volčja Draga\, “Turistička štampa” Belgrade and “Dečje novine” Gornji Milanovac. By uniting the works of Vladimir Radojičić’s collection with toys and social games from the collections of the National Museum Kraljevo through the exhibition “Come and Play!”\, the Museum continues to cooperate with institutions\, societies and individuals in order to jointly inherit important and precious layers of culture that have shaped many generations.

SUMMARY:46th Children's May Art Salon
DESCRIPTION:The most important and traditionally oldest exhibition of children’s art in our city is being organized this year for the 46th time\, but for the first time since its founding after a one-year break. Namely\, in 2020\, due to the “kovid 19” virus pandemic\, the National Museum Kraljevo was closed to the public and the event was absent. The Children’s May Art Salon\, according to its rules\, implies the participation of elementary school students from 5th to 8th grade from the territory of the City of Kraljevo. The exhibition is of a competitive nature\, and awards are given to children\, but also to pedagogues who followed their work. The cooperation of the Museum’s curator with the teachers\, established at the beginning and during the participation in the competition\, is important for the final result that we see in the final exhibition. The primary selection\, ie judging for the exhibition\, is performed by art pedagogues\, whose selection of works is evaluated by the expert jury of the Museum by awarding the prize for the best selection of student works and the prize for the most successful school in the field of art education. In addition to the 9 equal awards that are given to the most creative and technically most successfully performed works\, a special award is given to the art historian\, the founder of this event\, named “Milorad Mihailović”.
