The exhibition “Portrait of the Art School: 20 Years of the Art School in Kraljevo 2004-2024” was opened in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Friday, April 26th, 2024, starting at 7 p.m. Nadica Lišanin, senior curator of the National Museum Kraljevo and the author of the exhibition, first greeted the representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia: Marija Krneta, head of the Department for Secondary Education and Adult Education, and Miodrag Savović, head of the Group for Secondary General Art Education and Education, as and representatives of the local government of the City of Kraljevo, Miloš Milišić, assistant mayor for cultural events and Bojana Marinković, head of the School Administration, as well as a large audience. She pointed out that the exhibition was designed so that, in addition to the history of the institution itself, it presents representative works of students of the Art School, whose selection was made by the professors of this institution by choosing 75 works of former and 35 works of current students.
In the continuation of the program, the audience was addressed by Miloš Jevtović and Jana Radović, students of the third grade of the Arts School, who presented a brief history of the institution and took this opportunity to thank the City of Kraljevo and the School Administration, which enabled the expansion of the school premises. They also thanked the National Museum Kraljevo and the director of the Art School, Aleksandra Popović, for their cooperation in the realization of the exhibition.
Then the representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia Marija Krneta and Miodrag Savović addressed the audience, who on this occasion presented Aleksandra Popović, the director of the Art School, with a plaque on the occasion of the institution’s participation in the exhibition “In the Spirit of Holiness”, held within the Svetosava Academy in Belgrade.
The exhibition was officially opened by Danira Sovilj, PhD Art, assistant at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade and a student of the second generation of the Art School. Ilija Lazarevic and Milica Đurišić, piano and violin teachers of the Music School “Stevan Mokranjac” in Kraljevo, participated in the musical part.
