The ruling couple paid special attention to defining their visual identity. The king and queen hired the eminent painter Pajo Jovanović to make their representative portraits when the famous work “Queen Draga Obrenović” was created. When the queen’s portrait was finished, it served as a template for reproduction by Milan Jovanović, the court photographer and the painter’s brother. This monumental canvas depicting the complete figure of Queen Draga in a court setting is today kept in the National Museum in Belgrade, and the reproduction in its original size can be seen at the exhibition “Our Fellow Citizen Queen Draga, Between Glory and Anathema”.
