The National Museum Kraljevo was awarded the Special Recognition of the National Committee of ICOM Serbia for 2026, for the project “Official Internet Presentation of the National Museum Kraljevo: Institutionally Organized Multichannel Platform for the Museum’s Digital Communication”. The Recognition was awarded on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, at the Ceremonial Session of the Assembly of the National Committee of ICOM Serbia, held at the Art Gallery “Nadežda Petrović” in Čačak.

The National Committee of ICOM Serbia is the national branch of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the most important international organization under UNESCO, headquartered in Paris, which brings together museums and museum professionals worldwide. ICOM advocates for the development of museum activities, prescribes professional standards, is the bearer of the unique ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums, which applies to every individual professional and museum institution in the world, and promotes the protection of movable cultural heritage. Founded in 1946, Yugoslavia was one of the founding countries of the organization, when it also established its Yugoslav National Committee, whose successor is the National Committee of ICOM Serbia. In 2026, ICOM marked 80 years of existence.

As stated in the explanation of the Commission for the Award of the National Committee of ICOM Serbia, the Recognition to the Official Internet Presentation of the National Museum Kraljevo was awarded “for the exceptional organization and coordination of diverse tasks, as well as for balancing them between digital content and heritage promotion”. The Recognition was presented by Prof. Nikola Krstović, PhD, member of the Commission for the Award of the National Committee of ICOM Serbia, to Jelena Marković, secretary of the Official Internet Presentation of the National Museum Kraljevo, who received the Recognition on behalf of the entire team.

The Official Internet Presentation of the National Museum Kraljevo represents a museum medium in the digital space that integrates the website, social networks, and video platforms, so that programs, exhibitions, collections, research, and stories from cultural heritage are accessible, understandable, and visible to the wider public. Through texts, photographs, carousels, short video formats, program recordings, and direct communication with the audience, this medium not only conveys information about the Museum’s work but also shapes a space of contemporary museum interpretation, in which professional content is translated into a clear, concise, and audience‑friendly language.

Behind the content you follow stands the team of the Official Internet Presentation: Jelena Marković, secretary; Matija Marković, technical editor; Anđelija Petrović, editor of the informative program; Milena Baltić, editor of the education and scientific program; Ana Zečević, technical secretary; Jovan Antonić, graphic designer; Srđan Vulović, photographer; and Slobodan Ristović, cameraman. Everything we prepare, write, photograph, design, record, edit, and publish is created with the aim of making museum work more visible, understandable, and closer to the public.

Therefore, we see this recognition also as confirmation of the importance of the relationship we build with you, our audience, because it is precisely you, through your following, reading, sharing, and participation in dialogue with us, who give full meaning to the digital life of the museum.
Thank you for your trust and support. If you have not followed us until now, we invite you to join us on the official website and social networks of the National Museum Kraljevo.
