Glass, 14th to 15th century, Nova Pavlica Monastery

A glass made of cobalt blue glass was found within the archeological excavations of the Nova Pavlica Monastery, the endowment of the Musić brothers. The research was conducted by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia in the period from 1982 to 1986. The blue glass belongs to small vessels made of thin glass, with a deeply indented bottom whose edge is accentuated wavy. The body of the cup itself is shaped by a series of plastic ribs. During the excavation of Nova Pavlica, numerous luxurious tableware made of ceramics and glass were found, among which the blue glass has a prominent place.
