Lekythos-aryballos, 4th to 3rd century BC, Budva

Lekythos-aryballos, originally from Hellenistic Budva, dating from the 4th-3rd century AD, was donated by Mrs. Leposava Aleksić Zarić, the largest donor to the Archaeological Collection, from whose legacy 87 of the 213 items belong to archeology. A small lekythos, 7.6 cm high, is decorated with a palmette motif in a semicircular frame, which is made in a red-figural style. The vessel has a fine texture with a black varnish coating and belongs to the Hellenistic period. Medicines are smaller containers that were used to store fragrant oils.
