Ring with a gem, 2nd century AD, Kosmaj

The ring made of silver-plated bronze originates from Kosmaj and belongs to the period of Roman rule, and came to the Archaeological Collection as part of Legacy Leposava Aleksić Zarić. A gem of glass paste with a representation of the winged goddess Victoria was packed on the ellipsoidal head of the ring. In Roman culture, rings were a favorite type of jewelry and were worn by both men and women.
