Leisure by Sava Sandić, 1982.

Sava Sandić’s art is intimate and expressive at the same time. Pure stylization of the human form. A paradigmatic example of such creativity is the sculpture “Leisure”. Sava Sandić is a prisoner of the beautiful in art. He was not shaken by new ideas, techniques, postmodern conceptions. He remained consistent with classical sculptural work: sculpting figural forms and classical materials. Sava Sandić was born in Zaječar in 1915, and he began his sculpting studies in 1933 in the studio of the master sculptor Tomo Rosandić, whose associate he later became. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and specialized in the master workshop of Tomo Rosandić. Sava Sandić’s works can be found in galleries and museums, collections and homes of art lovers and friends.
