Mikan Aničić, painter and graphic artist, was born in 1950. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he also obtained a master’s degree in 1980 in the class of Professor Mladen Srbinović. As a scholarship holder of the French government in the period 1982-1984, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Since 1974, he has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the former Yugoslavia, France and other countries. Aničić became one of the important painters in the domain of fantastic art. He won the Medal for Painting at the Salon of French Artists in Grand Pale in 2006, for the painting “The Abduction of Europe”. His works can be found, except in our institution, in the Museum of Yugoslavia in Belgrade, the Museum of East Bosnia in Tuzla, the National Library of Serbia in Belgrade, the National Library of France in Paris and in many private collections in the country and abroad. He lives and works in Paris.
