Throwing Stones from Shoulder by Jaroslav Kratina, 1950-1955.

He was born in 1893 in Kostajnica and graduated from the Higher Art School for Arts and Crafts in Zagreb in 1919 with Professor Bela Čikoš Sesija. In his drawing expression, he managed to realize a certain personal character, close to caricature, in which he was much more direct than in experimental drawings inspired by Cubism and specifically Picasso. Jaroslav Kratina was one of our first copyists (1912), and he was a successful restorer of frescoes for many years (copies are kept in the Gallery of Frescoes in Belgrade). He worked in churches and monasteries throughout the former Yugoslavia.
