Skirt, first half of the 20th century, Bukovica near Kraljevo

The pleated skirt is sewn from a material woven from black, thinly spun wool and in the lower part it is decorated with a rhombus motif, made of metal beads. Only the pleating of the skirt is the result of a special procedure: before the belt is sewn, small folds are folded and the skirt is immersed in hot water, and then ironed with stones and left to stand submerged and pressed with stones. Wrinkles made in this way remain permanent. The skirt was worn by Stanica Jeftović from Bukovica.
