Solidus of Byzantine emperors Constantine VII and Roman II (945-959)

On the obverse the bust of Jesus Christ is depicted with a halo around his head, in a tunic and a collabion, holding the Gospel in his left hand, a blessing in his right. Text + IhS XPS REX REGNATICM flows around. On the reverse the busts of Emperor Constantine VII (left), with a short beard, and Roman II (right), beardless are depicted with crowns holding a double cross between them. Constantine wears a loros, and his son a chlamys. Everything is in a “pearl” circle. Around is the inscription CONSTANT ́ CE ROMAŃ AЧGG.
