Icon is Painted with Light

The third icon painting workshop within the project “Icons Are Painted with Light” will be held at the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Wednesday, November 13th, 2025, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The workshop is intended for all those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of icon painting, the symbolism of colors, and the visual language of Orthodox icons. Under the expert guidance of iconographer, academic painter, and restorer Marija Topalović, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on creative work and, through the process of creation, better understand the spiritual and artistic value of the icon.

Previous workshops have sparked great interest among young people and art enthusiasts, and the atmosphere of dedication, silence, and creative joy has shown how icon painting can be a path to spiritual and artistic revelation.

The program is organized in cooperation with the Group for Pedagogical and Propaganda Activities of the National Museum Kraljevo, with the aim of nurturing traditional, cultural, and educational values within the museum space.
