The exhibition “Smak 50” by Ksenija Đerković, archivist of the Historical Archive of Šumadija in Kragujevac and daughter of Slobodan Stojanović Kepa, the drummer of this iconic band, opened in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, starting at 6 p.m. Before the opening of the exhibition, a ten-minute documentary film by Ksenija Đerković was shown about the group “Smak” from their tour in the United States of America, filmed in New York, in which the band members talked about their popularity even outside the borders of their country. The audience was then addressed by Darko Gučanin, director of the National Museum Kraljevo, and referred to the phenomenon of the group “Smak”, which had a special importance in Kraljevo and whose music generations grew up with.

Oleg Romanov, senior curator of the National Museum Kraljevo, as the organizer of the exhibition “Smak 50”, pointed out that its hosting is a continuation of the efforts to form the Music Museum in Kraljevo, which for now has a virtual character, but as an idea and a project, it is intensively being worked on. Then he invited the present audience for the promotion of the show about Slobodan Stojanović Kepa, planned for April 27th, 2023, as the third in a series of shows from the series “Kraljevčani”, filmed as part of the joint production of the National Museum Kraljevo and magazine “Sidža”. Slobodan Stojanović Kepa will be a special guest at this promotion.

At the end, Ksenija Đerković, the author of the exhibition and the daughter of the famous drummer, spoke about her father, about growing up with “Smak” in the house, which marked her life, which opened the exhibition. The exhibition includes posters, newspaper articles from old Yugoslav newspapers such as “Jukebox”, “Reporter” and “TV Review”, musical props, equipment, wardrobe that the band members used on stage. The emphasis is on the history and importance of the group “Smak” from Kragujevac, as a kind of rock phenomenon from the heart of Šumadija and one of the biggest rock groups of the former Yugoslavia. Visitors will be able to view the exhibition in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo until May 10th, 2023.
