Details in the appearance of women, when they appear in public, from hairstyles, make-up, clothes, and jewellery, similar to today’s time, were determined by the fashion trends of Roman society, primarily those in the capital. During the time of the empire, empresses, whose example was followed by other women, especially from high society, had a great influence on these trends. You can find out what women’s hairstyles were like, what cosmetics and hair ornaments, jewellery and clothes looked like on the thematic guidance “Roman Fashion”.
