The publishing house “Poeticum izdavaštvo” from Kraljevo is organizing an event called “Days of Milan Đokić” on July 8th and 9th, 2022, in memory of the Kraljevo artist, poet, painter, and conservator Milan Đokić, who left us in 2018. The National Museum Kraljevo, the National Library “Stefan Prvovenčani” Kraljevo, the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments Kraljevo and the Cultural Center “Evergreen” are taking part in the event with the support of Public Communal Company “Vodovod” Kraljevo and LKWorld Logistic.
The opening of the event will be held at the National Museum Kraljevo, on Friday, July 8th, 2022, starting at 6 p.m., with the program “Silence of Milan Đokić”, where art historian Ljubiša Simović, museum advisor of the National Museum Kraljevo, will speak about the art segment Đokić’s work, Aleksandar Marić will talk about the literary work, and Dragiša Obradović, academic sculptor, Milan’s longtime friend, will shed light on the artist’s personality. At the end of this program, the award “Milan Đokić” will be awarded for the manuscript of the poem “U meredovo” by Jelena Kalajdžija, who won this year’s competition of the publishing house “Poeticum izdavaštvo”. Miloš Milišić, assistant to the mayor of Kraljevo for cultural events, Katarina Grujović Brković, director of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Kraljevo.
On the same evening, the program will continue at the Cultural Center “Evergreen” at 8 p.m., under the name “Summer Counting of Poetry” where poets will gather: Veroljub Vukašinović, Ivan Rajović, Ljubinko Dugalić, Nenad Glišić, Zoran Nedeljković, Toni Perdić, Dragan Marković, Nataša Đurović, Nenad Obradović, Aleksandar Despotović, Ljiljana Pavlović Ćirić, Ivan Novčić.
On the second day of the event, July 9th, 2022, starting at 12 p.m., in the National Library “Stefan Prvovenčani” Kraljevo, the program will continue with the theme “Byzantium in Contemporary Culture”, where visitors will be able to hear presentations by Vladimir Kolarić, PhD, Milica Milenković, MSc, and Aleksandar Marić.
