The exhibition “Dr. Đorđe Radić (1839-1922) – Agricultural Educator and Scientist”, by the author Dragan Drašković, museum advisor to the National Museum Kraljevo in retirement, organized by the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Serbia, is dedicated to one of the most important figures in the history of agriculture in Serbia and founder Agricultural schools in Kraljevo. The importance, role, contribution, and values of Dr. Đorđe Radić in the founding of Serbian agriculture are best illustrated by his works: over 40 published books; editorial board in the newspapers “Seljak”, “Težak”, “Domaćin”, “Cvetarstvo” and over 560 published articles in them; 31 published articles in various calendars; then membership in 67 agricultural and cultural societies (three of which are American). He was a regular member of the Serbian Academic Society; honorary member of the Serbian Royal Academy Many scientific achievements, starting with the hybridization of corn that he started before the Americans, obtained various varieties of corn and potatoes; new vegetables; produced the first cotton in Hungary; introduced new nobler breeds of cattle, especially cattle, sheep and poultry; crossings performed, mixing of merino sheep with hedgehog sheep; experiments with silkworm breeding; procured for that time new devices and tools – iron plows and threshers with a winch; established agricultural schools in Požarevac, Danilovgrad and Kraljevo; performed the duties of a secretary in the Serbian Agricultural Society, contacts and cooperation with all relevant names of agricultural science in Europe and the world.
