Raids – Punitive Expeditions of the Wehrmacht in the Villages of the Žica Srez in 1941

Raids by the German army in the surrounding villages that began in September 1941 had the character of selective punitive measures, directed against specific individuals. However, with the spread of the uprising, the intensification of actions and the expansion of the area of influence, the German troops will move on to retaliatory measures against the entire population of a certain place. The consequences of these punitive expeditions were: the suffering of the civilian population, looted and burned households, destroyed crops and decimated livestock.

Vesna Vesić – Looking in the Rearview Mirror in the Snow Tunnel

Vesna Vesić is a multimedia artist, whose work is characterized by an emphasis on involvement, complexity, and experimentalism, which she creates by acting through the medium of video (in the first person), drawings in materials such as wool, installations and text. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2001. She participated in many exhibitions in the country and abroad (Ljubljana, Vienna, Warsaw, Trieste, Rome, Amsterdam), and her most significant participation was at the 48th Biennale in Venice, in the international selection of curator Herald Zeman.

Promotion of the Journal “Our Past 20”

Along the Paths of String Quartet in Serbia

The String Quartet “Bliss” consists of: Bojana Đolović (violin), professor of chamber music, violin and orchestra at the Music School “Dr. Vojislav Vučković” in Čačak, founder of the “Bliss” Quartet, Aleksandar Jakovljević (cello), professor at the Department of Chamber Music at the Faculty of Arts of the University in Niš, Saša Mirković (violin) and Jovan Tešić (violin). The program was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.

Stained Glass Techniques

The lecture by art historian Marina Lukić Cvetić is organized in cooperation with the Museum of Spoonsweet – House of Cvetić, as part of the exhibition “Magic of Glass: Glassware from the Ethnological Collection of Household Furnishings of the National Museum Kraljevo”. As well-known as Venetian carnivals and gondolas, from the Venetian Republic to the present day, the fascination for decorative and utilitarian objects made of Murano glass has not stopped, and at one time it was also made in the local factory in Prokuplje.

Author’s Guidance through the Exhibition “Magic of Glass”

At the author's guidance by Violeta Cvetanoska, senior curator of the National Museum Kraljevo, through the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the glass objects that were used in bourgeois houses in Kraljevo and that were part of everyday family life.

Green and Black: Story of Tea

The exhibition by Desa Đorđević Milutinović, PhD, museum advisor of the Natural History Museum in Belgrade, shows through exhibits, photos, and texts the path from leaves picked from the tea plant to a cup of a pleasant and medicinal drink, as well as the path of tea from its homeland China to all parts of the world. Four basic types of tea are presented: white, green, black and oolong, and visitors will have the opportunity to see for themselves the basic differences between black and green teas, as well as to learn about the rules for preparing certain teas.

As part of hosting the exhibition “Green and Black: Story of Tea”, a lecture of the same name will be held by Desa Đorđević Milutinović, PhD, museum advisor of the Natural History Museum in Belgrade. The lecture includes a review of the etymology of the word tea, the history of this beverage and its journey from China, further east to Asia, and west to Europe, as well as an overview of the most famous types of black and green teas.
