In the study entitled “How Tito Was Made”, Srđan Cvetković opens one of the most mysterious chapters of Yugoslav history - the construction of the personality cult of Josip Broz. Cvetković, among other things, investigates the lasting impact of Tito's cult on the Serbian people. The study provides a significant contribution to the understanding of the domain of propaganda and the technology of building a cult of personality, as well as its successful and unsuccessful attempts to dismantle it in recent times.

The program of the European Museum Night at the National Museum Kraljevo in 2024 is called “In vino veritas” and was prompted by the circumstances that the “Kraljevo Wine Festival” is being held at the same time in the city park, opposite the Museum. Given that wine and viticulture are one of the great themes of heritage, we decided to present it during the Museum Night. The program is implemented in cooperation with the Museum of Spoonsweets – Cvetić House from Kraljevo and the Museum of Winemaking and Viticulture from Aleksandrovac.

The most significant and oldest exhibition of children's art in our city is being held for the 49th time in a row, as a result of a successfully implemented competition. The aim of organizing the Children's May Art Salon is to highlight the importance of art education, to value the work of individual art teachers and to recognize the creative potential of students by presenting the most successful works created in school classes. This year the theme was free.

Placing the ancient past in an artistic context, the exhibition covers a number of topics depicting the heritage of this era, starting from archaeological sites, epigraphic monuments, artistic to useful objects from the Antiquity Collection of the National Museum Čačak. Bringing together photographic frames, poetic expression, paintings, drawings and immediate, original fragments, the exhibition connects the time depths of an ancient settlement in the Roman province and the contemporary space of the city of Čačak, imaginary and real.

“Occupied Culture” is a book that thematically deviates from established historiographical books that analyse military operations, suffering and resistance. Its authors look at the Second World War in occupied Serbia from a completely different angle. The horizon of this publication is represented by culture in its extremely important segment – the protection of cultural assets and the work of museums. The starting point of the research is the verification of stereotypes created in post-war Yugoslavia that only after the Second World War in a country whose entire social life is dictated by the Communist Party.

Antique Čačak was located on the border of two Roman provinces, and the archaeological discoveries of its parts were placed in the center of today's city, which allowed the fragments of an ancient time to flow into the present. Hence, the exhibition was conceived through multiple temporal and visual planes, combining photographic frames, poetic expression, paintings, drawings and immediate archaeological fragments. Discover how the layers of the ancient horizon are connected to modern man by the same territory, feelings and substance.

In a small shop at the bus station in Kraljevo, which was almost completely hidden behind the sign “I Repair Memories”, the great man, master and Mr. Joviša Gudžulić (1937-2023) spent more than half a century. In front of this strange, slightly beautiful and terribly ugly world, Joviša swears in this documentary that she will fight honorably, not looking for any victory in the outcome of her personal life struggle.

The exhibition represents a rare example of museological processing of mass atrocities and reprisals committed by Albanian quislings against the civilian Serbian and Jewish population in the area of AP Kosovo and Metohija during the Second World War and bears witness to a crime that has almost been completely forgotten.

Žiča Spiritual Assembly “Transfiguration 2024” is an important cultural event whose goal is to nurture, study and affirm the values of our national culture. The program of the Assembly begins with a ceremonial opening in the National Museum Kraljevo with two exhibitions of respected national cultural institutions: “Inspired by Italy” of the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad and “Cities: A Certain view. From the Collection of Graphics by Foreign Authors of the National Museum of Serbia”.

The exhibition is dedicated to Serbian-Italian cultural and artistic ties, that is, to Serbian artists who found role models and incentives for their creativity in the artistic tradition of Italy. The Italian "experiences" of Serbian artists during the 19th and 20th centuries are visually represented by the selection of works of art from the collection of the Gallery of Matica Srpska.

The thematic backbone of the exhibition is represented by the presentation of the city as a key place where modern culture and art began and developed dramatically and rapidly, first at the transition from the 18th to the 19th and then from the 19th to the 20th century. In fine art from the 17th century, the motif of the city was represented to the greatest extent in printed graphics, whether it was individual prints or graphic maps with topographic representations of different places.

It is the fourth gathering of researchers from the fields of history, political science, law and philology organized by the National Museum Kraljevo with the support of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade and the Institute for Political Studies from Belgrade. During the two days of the conference, on August 17th and 18th, 2024, twenty scientists will present their works.
