Program “On Slava at Olivera’s House” Held

The program was realized in the Legacy of Olivera Radojković Čolović, on Mitrovdan, November 8th, 2022, the day of family feast of the donor. Through this program, which was realized by curator ethnologist Sofija Pršić and art historian Jelena Marković, the memory of Olivera and her family is preserved and cherished through the idea of a living legacy. The program “On Slava at Olivera’s House” was conceived as a reconstruction of the civic glory in the house of Čolović, which was preceded by the consecration of bread and grain, and gathered her acquaintances and friends.

Conservation of the Gifts of Princess Persida Karađorđević and Her Daughters to the Studenica Monastery

As part of the conservation of textiles from the Treasury Studenica Monastery, in the past two years, work was also done on the gifts of Princess Persida Karađorđević and her daughters, as one of the significant founding figures of the 19th century. Among these gifts is a red pillow for the relics of Saint Stephen the First Crowned, a gift from Polexia and Cleopatra Karađorđević. The pillow was conserved last year as part of the project “Renovation of the Treasury of the Studenica Monastery”, which the National Museum Kraljevo has been implementing for almost 10 years, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.

The exhibition authored by historians of the National Museum Kraljevo Mirjana Savić, museum advisor and Nemanja Trifunović, curator, was opened in the Gallery National Museum Kraljevo, on Thursday, October 13th, 2022, at 7 p.m., as part of the October festivities. Darko Gučanin, director of the National Museum Kraljevo, and Miloš Milišić, Assistant to the Mayor of Kraljevo for Cultural Events, addressed the audience. The exhibition was opened by Miloš Timotijević, museum advisor of the National Museum Čačak.

The scientific conference with international participation, which was organized by the National Museum Kraljevo in cooperation with the Institute for Political Studies in Belgrade, Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, was opened in the Gallery of the National Museum of Kraljevo, on Tuesday, August 17th, 2022, starting at 10 a.m. At the opening, Predrag Terzić, Mayor of Kraljevo, Ljubodrag P. Ristić, member of the Scientific and Organizational Committee and Darko Gučanin, director of the National Museum Kraljevo.

Traditional thirty first event was officially opened in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022, starting at 8 p.m. Predrag Terzić, Mayor of Kraljevo, addressed the audience, while Vladimir Pištalo, director of the National Library of Serbia, opened the event. The exhibition “Beneath Sky of Gold and Blue: Icons of Greek Master Painters from the 15th to the 19th Century of the National Museum of Serbia” by Branka Ivanić, museum advisor, was opened by Bojana Borić Brešković, director of the National Museum of Serbia.

The exhibition of the National Museum Kruševac was opened in the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Saint Vitus’s Day, on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022, starting at 7 p.m., and the audience will be able to see it until July 31st, 2022. The authors of the exhibition are historians of the National Museum Kruševac, Sanja Rutić Vorotović, senior curator and Goran Vasić, museum advisor.

The exhibition by Marko Stojanović, PhD, museum advisor of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, opened at the Gallery of the National Museum Kraljevo, on Thursday, June 24th, 2022, starting at 7 p.m., and the audience will be able to see it until July 31st, 2022. The exhibition presents a collection of carrying poles from the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, as well as frames from the Museum of Vojvodina.

The event was held under the theme “Night of Vinyl 33” at the National Museum Kraljevo, on Saturday, May 14th, 2022, from 06:00 p.m. to 00:00 a.m. The inspiration for the theme is the visiting exhibition “LP – History of the Gramophone and the Golden Age of Records” by Viktorija Šimon Vuletić, museum advisor of the City Museum Subotica, which takes us from the beginning of gramophones, late 19th, to the golden age of records and expansion of popular music in the second half of the 20th century.

Workbook “Name Day of the City of Kraljevo” for Primary School Students

On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the proclamation of the Principality of Serbia as the Kingdom, and Prince Milan Obrenović as King, when our city changed its name from Karanovac to Kraljevo, the National Museum Kraljevo prepared a workbook for primary school students, as a kind of story about the city’s name day. Since the City of Kraljevo celebrates its name day on April 19th, as part of the jubilee, the National Museum Kraljevo donating a workbook to every child and teacher who visits the museum on this day.

On Saturday, March 12th, 2022, Slavoljub Slavko Maržik, M.Sc., retired geology engineer and author of six books related to the history of Kraljevo, a longtime associate of the National Museum Kraljevo, passed away in Belgrade.
